Outreach

Science communication

Science communication for me personally, is about increasing a sense of wonder and sparking an interest for our research in children and adults.

I am a science communicator for the Harvard Natural Museum and we recorded a video last year explaining my research about increased olfaction in zebrafish to children.

The Social Scientist

Since the launch of the platform, I am a member of The social scientist - a “community of mentors dedicated to STEM professional development. We aim to break down barriers to support diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM. With our virtual platform and global mentors, we provide guidance to facilitate opportunities in our fields, from students to CEOs.”

Mentoring

Mentoring is an important part of our jobs as scientists. Outside the lab, I mentor as part of the Harvard Graduate Women in Science and Engineering.
